Medicinal plants have been the very friendly and indispensable to human beings. Their knowledge for medicinal purposes is as old as human existence or even earlier. They have catered our needs and have supported in every desirable way. But generally most of them are considered as weeds and are removed by using different chemicals mostly due to ignorance. Thus it is our prime duty to preserve the knowledge of its use and also conserve it for future generations. Below is the list of some medicinal plants that are commonly used in Ayurveda. In the below mentioned list all those plants that are mentioned in red colour have उष्ण वीर्य (Ushna Veerya) while those in blue colour have शीत वीर्य (Sheeta Veerya) for the easy understanding of the substance. Those which are green in colour. The text that are in violet colour are those which are considered as poisonous as they are considered under the category of विष (Poisons).
